BOREAS RAILROAD STATION SITE
Boreas Pass Road, Pike National Forest, northwest of Como
National Register - designated 10/28/1993

Located at 11,481 feet above sea level on Boreas Pass, the 1882 section house was once home to the crew of the Denver, South Park & Pacific Railroad and their families. Now fully rehabilitated, the section house is available for ski lodging in the winter and as an interpretive area in the summer months.

COLORADO & SOUTHERN RAILWAY GONDOLA No. 4319

Built in 1902 by the Colorado & Southern Railway, C&S Gondola No. 4319 is a good example of a C&S “Low Side” narrow gauge gondola railcar, which incorporated the very latest technology of the time.

COMO ROUNDHOUSE, RAILROAD DEPOT & HOTEL COMPLEX

National Register - designated 5/20/1983

The stone roundhouse, brick hotel, and wood frame depot date to the 1880s and served the Denver, South Park & Pacific Railroad line. Ongoing rehabilitation efforts will ensure that these fine examples of early narrow-gauge railroad buildings remain available for future generations to enjoy.

COMO SCHOOL

National Register - designated 6/30/2000

The 1883 elementary school now serves as the Como Community Center, while the fully furnished 1920s high school is a museum. Both buildings have been carefully restored by the community.
