Park County, CO - Please be advised, per Park County Sheriff, Tom McGraw, a Stage 1 Fire Ban is in effect beginning August 1, 2024 for all of Park County until further notice. Please see Sheriff McGraw's full statement here.
"The primary concern is that numerous fire districts have sent crews to assist in fighting the fires in the Denver area. Currently there are three fires. The Quarry Fire in Jefferson, the Alexander Mountain Fire in Loveland and the Stone Canyon Fire in Lyons which has now caused the death of one person. Fire districts are stretched extremely thin at this time and we need to be as diligent as possible.
Please abide by the County Ordinance 21-04. Citations for violations will start at $500 and increase to $1000. Thank you for your cooperation," states Sheriff McGraw.
