Park County, CO - On Tuesday, December 24, at approximately 2:40 p.m., the Park County Sheriff’s Office 911 Communications Center received a “check the welfare” call. Deputies responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Campfire Road, located in unincorporated Park County near Hartsel, Colorado.
Upon searching the residence, deputies discovered a deceased adult male. Due to the nature of the incident, which has been classified as a homicide, and the complexity of the ongoing investigation, the Park County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. Additionally, the Park County Sheriff’s Office sought support from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, given a potential connection to a missing person case.
This investigation remains active and ongoing. The Park County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, will provide updates to the public as new information becomes available.
The deceased individual’s identity will be released by the Park County Coroner’s Office following the completion of the autopsy.
